What is Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)?
TCM is an ancient and comprehensive healthcare system with over 4,000 years of history of treating and preventing disease.

What types of treatment methods are available?
TCM includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutrition, tui na (Chinese massage), exercise (Such as qi gong and tai chi), cupping (use of suction to increase circulation), gua sha (releasing heat and stagnation through the applying of friction).

What is acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an approved medical procedure using very fine, solid disposable needles, and inserting them along specific points on the body. These acupuncture points elicit a sensation which helps restore the body’s energy balance.

Does acupuncture hurt?
When a needle is inserted, a sense of tingling, warmth or heaviness may be experienced. This sensation may be controlled by the TCM practitioner via stimulation of the needle to either increase or decrease sensation. The experience is often times relaxing.

How many treatments are necessary?
The frequency of acupuncture treatment depends on the patient’s illness, and weather or not the condition is chronic or acute.

How quickly do the results appear?
It is often common that after the first treatment, improvements are noticed; typically acute conditions require fewer treatments than chronic ones.

What about Chinese herbs?
Chinese herbs are very safe; they are approved by the FDA, A TCM practitioner like myself is an herbalist, highly trained in the application and use of herbs to address illnesses. Side effects are rarely observed when administered under the supervision of a trained and certified TCM practitioner.

How do I take herbs?
Herbs can be administered in small pills, in raw form (Which requires the cooking of herbs), or in powder form. The dispensary method depends on the type of ailment to be treated, patient lifestyle and preference.
